The second edition of Dance Film Festival Prague will present the premiere of the film PINA 3D shot by the renowned German director Wim Wenders in co-operation with Tanztheater Wuppertal. The film is a groundbreaking piece of art in terms of visual means, technology, and aesthetics in general. It is a virtual meeting point of dance, theatre, and film.

Furthermore, the festival will present a collection of dance for camera films as well as a choice of recordings of dance pieces, the latter carrying a new visual and dramatic quality created by cinematographic means. Another programme line is that of artistic documentary, a genre that not only peeps into the backstage of dance productions and captures artistic statements of choreographers and dancers but also offers deep insight into the inspirations and social connections within the world of dance. This year’s edition of Dance Film Festival is organized in co-operation with partners from the Netherlands (Cinedans) and Germany (Nachtaktivfilm). For more information see the programme.
