A jaded Janitor goes about his daily work at an old arts institution that’s about to be torn down. He is listening to his radio when suddenly the song “Guide Us” interrupts the transmission. The song possesses the Janitor and the mop he is using comes alive, leading the Janitor on a surreal, existential journey.
Guide Us is an expression of the frustrations singer-songwriter Leslie Low faced during the pandemic. In this visual interpretation by Singaporean filmmaker Ler Jiyuan and dance choreographer Lim Chin Huat, the Janitor’s journey is a metaphor for how our creative souls were trapped during the pandemic and now desperately trying to come alive once again. Keep the faith, and let our inner light guide us through the toughest of times.
