Pilgrimage reflects the profound human experience of renewal and solidarity through the process of a communal journey. Through a complex series of Turkish usul patterns designed to ignite emotional states of journey and light, nine dancers and singers travel along parched roads and moonlit fields to find refuge in an abandoned place of worship.
Together, choreographer Sandy Silva and filmmaker Marlene Millar use the nuanced dynamics, emotion and precision of percussive dance to shape a powerful cinematographic storyline.
